Guidelines:
Three Level Championship - The Southwest US Championships offers three levels of competition in several categories. The contestant and or director determine level.
Beginner Level - is a Beginner level of competition offered for contestants with little to no previous competition experience.
Amateur Level - is an Intermediate level of competition offered for contestants with moderate competition experience. Winners will qualify for the USA National Clogging Championships.
Masters Level - is an Advanced level of competition offered for contestants with extensive competition experience. Winners will qualify for the USA National Clogging Championships.

Definition
of Acrobatics & Gymnastics -
See Clogging / Power Tap Rulebook for specific definitions. Gymnastics
allowed in Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical categories.
Registration
Forms
-
A registration has been
provided for your use. We are able to accept registration in the form of
spreadsheet. Speed up your registration and forward your spreadsheet via
email to azpride2@hotmail.com (able to accept Excel spreadsheets).
Dance
Order -
Entries will be programmed inversely to the order in which registration
is received. Enter early; dance
late in a category. Enter late;
dance early in a category.
Music
- Team
& Duo/Trio contestants must provide all music on a compact disc (CD). Variable
speed CD players will be available for use. Please have backup music sources available.
Speed checks will be provided prior to performance. Music for individuals, short
duos and special events will be provided
by the event.
Family
Fun/Hospitality/Unique Excitement -
Participants
and spectators will enjoy a weekend filled with championship dance
performance, family fun and a unique excitement. The event focuses efforts on hospitality and fun for the
whole family. Experience an
interactive weekend of entertainment where you are encouraged to whoop it up and
even get involved in audience participation activities.
Qualify for the USA National Clogging Championships - The 4 highest scoring teams/duets in each sanctioned category in the 12 years and under and the 13 years and older will receive an automatic invitation to compete in the USA National Clogging Championships to be held Labor Day Weekend.

Registration Changes – At Door Registration Additions Will Be Limited as low participation categories may be CLOSED. Registration changes after July 1 are restricted and subject to a $5 per entry change fee.
Showdown Tournament:
Southwest Team Showdown |
|
The
Southwest Team Showdown is a separate tournament for Master level
participants.
The top 10 highest scoring teams (based on a % of total points
possible) regardless of category, age division, and previous results will
be invited to participate in a “bring your best routine” Southwest
Showdown.
A different team is determined by having at least 50% different
dancers.
Participation is optional – any vacancies will be filled by the
next highest scoring teams. |

Duo/Duet Showdown |
|
The
Southwest Duet Showdown is a separate tournament for Master level
participants. The top 10 highest scoring duo/duets regardless of
category, age division, and previous results will be invited to
participate in a “bring your best routine” Southwest Duet Showdown.
A different duo/duet is determined by having at least 50% different
dancers. |
